Prommenade
2018, ETSAV (UPC)

Sallent del Llobregat is a small city near Barcelona. The        river Sallent de Llobregat divides the region into two parts. However, this division is unbalanced: the larger part encompasses all the activities, parks, plazas, and public facilities, while the smaller part has been forgotten and abandoned. The proposal aims to revitalize this neglected territory by establishing a new path along the river, creating a focal point of activity that complements the natural beauty of the area.
This new promenade includes redesigned paving, a reimagining of vegetation as a tool, and new urban furniture and lighting.

Casa Cadaques
2024

The scope of work is to rethink the layout and the interior of a holiday house in Cadaques.

Plaça Catalunya
2021, Barcelona

Plaça Catalunya serves as the heart of Barcelona, nestled between diverse neighborhoods and bustling with tourists. However, it remains a space primarily frequented by tourists rather than locals. The proposal aims to transform this area into a vibrant local center, enhancing its identity and functionality.

The plan involves reorganizing the plaza's layout, reintroducing the two major diagonals that once defined its structure in the early 20th century. The remaining spaces will be repurposed into lush gardens populated with bee-friendly flora, while iconic sculptures will be strategically relocated, with the most prominent placed at the center.
A new concrete and glass canopy will cover the central area, creating an underground plaza that seamlessly connects existing metro entrances and a parking lot. This space will accommodate various programs from the old plaza. Surrounding the oval, small local businesses will offer a range of products, revitalizing the community spirit in the heart of Barcelona.

The straw bales
2020, Competition - preselected

In northern Vietnam's La Pan Tan region, known for its stunning terraced rice fields, a competition called for a new tourist accommodation within the area. To preserve the landscape, the hotel proposal places the accommodation in the existing town near the river and road, providing access to infrastructure. In the rice fields, separate pavilions serve tourists and locals as lookout points, shading areas, and restroom facilities, all positioned at 1215 meters altitude along the same contour.
These structures use a construction method based on straw bales, a natural byproduct of the rice harvest, providing insulation and thermal mass to the buildings.

Circular market
2016, Escola da Cidade (Sao Paulo)

Paranapiacaba, nestled between Sao Paulo and Santos, holds strategic importance as a link between the metropolis and the port city. Initially developed as a company town for São Paulo Railway employees, it now relies on tourism. The proposal seeks to rejuvenate the town's economy by revitalizing train infrastructure for
transporting goods from neighboring cities. Key to this plan is the revival of the old supermarket, which will serve as a central hub for residents, functioning as both a civic building and a plaza.

Ringo Rango
2015, ETSAV (UPC)

The Les Planes neighborhood originated in the mid-twentieth century as families from various parts of Spain constructed their own homes. Les Planes' rugged topography posed mobility challenges, prompting the RUTA RINGO RANGO project to improve accessibility and facilitate fast connections between streets. By examining the urban plan, we identified a network of public paths, historically known as ringo rango paths, which we utilized for our intervention.

Our team of 25 students devised a zero-cost design using discarded concrete test specimens, addressing the construction industry's waste issue. The system, requiring no mortar, is easily reversible: test tubes are embedded in the ground and fixed together by filling voids with small gravel.

The project was showcased at the Spanish Exhibition during the Biennale of Architecture 2018.
